The Washington Municipal Band was 75 years old in 2007. On August 2nd there was a Sousa extravaganza to honor those 75 years. Coincidently, John Philip Sousa died in 1932 the year the band was formed. Studio 909 congratulates the band and thanks them for filling the park with music all those 75 years. The South Side Gallery placed vintage instruments and other items in its window to honor the band.
Notice the drum in the "Down Memory Lane" picture above.
The night started lively!
There was singing
The town of Washington showed up
The trombones played
The conductor held court
The fountain held it's steady flow
The evening was a success!
Thank you for 75 years of Music
